It is inevitable that each of us will lose someone we love. I lost my father when I was quite young and the feeling of grief never really left me; the pain can be overwhelming at first, but over time I have learned to live with the ebb and flow... and the occasional deluge.

I wrote this song after a friend and former bandmate lost someone close to them. Seeing their grief reminded me of my own pain and I wrote this song in response to those feelings.

The song comes from an understanding that grief never leaves us, but the memories of the love shared between two people always remains… Deep Down.
